Beachbody Review: So Much More Than Just Workout Videos

April 28th, 2012 No comments

Yesterday I shared with you why I almost quit and ultimately why I pushed through.  Today I would like to share with you the deciding factors that prompted me to become a Beachbody Coach.

I mentioned watching the infomercials and knowing that Tony Horton had put together a tremendous program.

What I didn’t know was the number and variety of training programs available through Beachbody.

If you are just starting or if you are a professional athlete there is a program for you.

I also didn’t know that Beachbody had a complete line of nutrition products.

I am a label reader.  I don’t put anything in my shopping cart unless I read the label and the ingredients.  As I researched the nutrition products I found that they are of the highest quality you can find.  Just as with the training videos, no matter what your goals, weight loss or weight gain, peak performance or general health and wellness, there are products specifically tailored to your needs.

Beachbody also provides a customizable meal planner that makes it easy to plan everything you’re going to eat, so you’ll always have delicious food that supports your fitness and your weight loss program. You can figure out your personal nutrition requirements, build and print out menus and shopping lists, and make sure you have plenty of variety so you’ll never get bored.

I realized that this was not simply an infomercial workout video company.  This was a company that is dedicated to helping you get maximum results out of these programs and assist you in reaching your health and fitness goals.  They even assign coaches to help you along the way with motivation and support.

There is so much more that goes along with everything I have shared.

The final point I will share is the deep discounts you receive off the retail pricing of the products by becoming a coach.  When I found out how inexpensive it is to get involved I knew the savings would quickly pay for the membership.

That, combined with the quality of the videos, nutrition products, and all the tools and tips that are included made me realize I had found the right resources.

Tomorrow I will share my thoughts about Beachbody’s nutrition line and especially about a meal replacement shake called Shakeology.  If you have any questions about what you’ve read today or if you have questions about your diet and fitness goals, I would be happy to assist you.

If you’re wanting to get started right away go here.

Talk to you soon.

Beachbody Review: Why I Almost Quit.

Beachbody Review: “Why did I almost quit, and ultimately, why did I NOT quit?”

Yesterday I shared with you why I’m passionate about health and fitness and a few of the reasons I decided to ditch the gym and start working out from home.  The convenience of working out from home and spending more time with my family are the main reasons to remember.

I was tremendously excited about starting P90X.

As I said I had been doing this type of training (or so I thought) for a while now and was ready for a new challenge.  I couldn’t wait to get started.

Then I got started.  I have to tell you right here and now that after the 3rd day I felt like quitting.  I was sore all over and that was from doing only what I could.  I wasn’t able to keep pace with them and I thought I was in pretty good shape.  I really had to push through and find that inner drive to keep going.  I knew that I was not a quitter and I also knew that if I can stick with this I will achieve a level of fitness that I didn’t know was possible for me.

I knew even though I could barely move my body that I was not going to give up! I would not stop trying to better myself.  The videos encouraged me to stick with my desire to get healthy, to do my best and forget the rest.  There was information that came with the program that showed me ways to modify the way I worked out and also mentioned possibly adding a few supplements to my diet to help increase my energy levels, reduce muscle soreness and recover more quickly.

I was not surprised to find that the company that offered the most popular workout program in the country also offered a complete line of supplements and nutrition products.

As I researched the products I realized that Beachbody was much more than just a workout video company.  I found a company committed to helping you achieve your health and fitness goals.  (I’ll explain more about that tomorrow.)

Like you, I wish it were easy or that there was some pill we could all take to magically transform our bodies into that of our dreams, but we know it doesn’t happen that way.  We have to work hard and make changes in our lives to get results different than what we are getting now.  Change is never easy but it can also be a lot of fun.

Tomorrow I will be sharing more about the company behind the videos and why I made the decision to become a Beachbody Coach.  If you are ready for more information feel free to contact me directly or visit http://CoachCraig.tripleresource.com.

See you tomorrow,

Beachbody Review: Why I Became a Coach.

April 24th, 2012 No comments

Hello and  Welcome.  I’m honored to share my story with you about why I ultimately decided to become a Beachbody Coach.  However I think you’ll find it’s not just a story.  You see, within my story I’ll be sharing secrets that will prompt growth within you.  Be prepared!

My name is Craig McCasland.  I’ve been passionate about health and fitness for as long as I can remember.  I started lifting weights in 8th grade.  I remember reading Muscle and Fitness magazine cover to cover for years.  I always (okay, most of the time…) paid close attention to the foods I ate and used supplements to try to gain weight.

Over the years I’ve learned a lot about weight training and proper nutrition.  As I got older my fitness goals changed from wanting to get big to wanting to get really fit.  Also, I didn’t want to get hurt.   I started focusing more on flexibility and my workouts changed to lighter weights and higher reps.  I did high intensity workouts with no rest between sets.

I started working with the owner of a gym.  Maybe it was just coincidence but he started changing his workout philosophy right around this time.  He would call me into his big empty aerobics room and would put me through workouts that I would have to describe as “boot camp” style routines.  Exercises like push-ups, jumping jacks, squats with no weights and light dumbbell and kettle bell work made me feel like I was back at football practice.

I continued to do this style of training, (short, high intensity workouts with light weights) for five or six months and the results were amazing.  I was in the best shape of my life.  I really enjoyed the variations of the different exercises.  It kept things exciting and my body really responded to all the different movements.

Now I must admit the greatest benefit of the short intense workouts was that I wasn’t at the gym for 2 hours anymore.  The reason it was so important was because my daughter was born in July of 2007.  The last thing I wanted to do was spend any more time in the gym than I had to.  I would do 20 minutes of various routines and do 20 minutes of cardio and I was out the door.

Recently I have become more and more annoyed with going to the gym.  It’s a 20 minute drive for me to get there.  Then there are the people that are just so disrespectful by either not putting their weights back or not wiping down the equipment they had just sweated all up.  Don’t even get me started about the music!  I love to work out but I just couldn’t take it anymore.

I had seen the P90X infomercials for a couple years and I always thought “this guy really knows his stuff.”    It’s the same type of working out I’m already doing.  I know that these types of routines work.  I don’t have to leave the house.   I don’t have to listen to that annoying music or deal with inconsiderate people.  Most importantly, I could spend more time with my family.

It was time to give it a try.  Where do I sign?  I’m in.

In the posts that follow I’ll share my experiences working out from home with P90X.  I’ll also share more reasons for becoming a Beachbody Coach and how it‘s a decision that has changed my life forever.
If you haven’t already please visit http://CoachCraig.tripleresource.com to see how it’s “working out!”  See how you too can get in the best shape of your life in the comfort of your home.

See you tomorrow,

Why Join Beachbody?

Why Join Beachbody?

Most people are very self conscious about the way they look and with good reason. People notice your body wherever you go, at the beach, high school reunion, or in day-to-day life. These days have also been very tough economically. People feel trapped between a rock and a hard place. You want to change or improve your figure but feel you can not afford to. Well, not anymore! Beachbody is the answer you have been looking for!

What is Beachbody?

Beachbody, LLC is a health and fitness company offering various health and wellness products, ranging from exercise videos, dietary supplements and fitness accessories. The company was established in 1998 by Carl Daikeler and Jon Congdon under the name “Product Partners, LLC.” In 2007 Daikeler re-launched it as the company we know today. They employ a multilevel marketing approach and market their products through a network of distributors called coaches.

There is a membership cost of $39.99, which covers your service fees and your business kit. You don’t have to be a fitness expert or a dietician to be a coach. You only need to be ready to start living a healthy lifestyle. You must be sick and tired of being sick and tired. Almost everybody finds it hard to maintain fitness or shed some pounds. Your only requirement is to be there for moral support and help people stay committed just like I will be there for you. Not only that, you receive a HUGE discount on the products and services by becoming a coach.

How does Beachbody create customers?

Unless you live under a rock you have probably seen their infomercials on tv. These commercials generate a great amount of interest from the general public. The company gives away the customers it receives from these advertising campaigns to coaches for FREE if you are a club member. Beachbody has also harnessed the power of the internet. You simply refer people to your website, which you receive upon registering. Word of mouth marketing also has its part in growing your Beachbody business.

Beachbody offers three membership options.

The first is a free membership. This option lets you buy Beachbody’s products at retail price.

The second option is to be a club member, which has far more benefits than the free membership. When you upgrade or join as a club member you get access to features available on Beachbody’s website, namely: a fully customizable meal plan, healthy recipes, tracking your workouts and results and much more. You also receive a member’s discount of ten percent.

If you think that sounds great, then brace yourself for the third membership option. Joining as a coach allows you to earn income in addition to the benefits of the first two options. You can refer your customers to your website and when they order any of the products or services you receive 25% commissions from their orders. This is the best membership option Beachbody offers to its customers.

Here is your chance to stay fit and earn at the same time. Join now and feel the Beachbody experience!

Helping you get fit and stay fit,

Craig

Running Training: 21 Minute Interval Workout

December 1st, 2011 No comments

Running Training

is one of the healthiest and easiest ways I have found to get in shape and stay in shape.

Having said that I really don’t even consider myself a runner.  For instance, I would never run a marathon.

Very rarely am I excited about getting on the treadmill.  I usually think about Forest Gump saying “I just felt like runnin!” or “that boy is a runnin fool” and think like a kid again.

I do it because I have found it’s the best way for me to stay in shape.  I know how to do it, it’s not complicated and it works.

I recently had some personal issues in my life that kept me from working out and running.  My head wasn’t in the game.  I went about 11 months of not really doing anything as far as fitness was concerned. (Does golf count? I always ride so no.)

I would occasionally put in a workout video and make it two or three days but just couldn’t stick with it.

Shortly thereafter I was at a family get together and my cousin mentioned he wanted to run in the Warrior Dash 5K run in a couple months.  I immediately said “I’ll join ya” thinking it would be the motivation I needed to start my running training again and that, in turn, would hopefully motivate me to start working out again.

Well a couple weeks went by and I kept telling myself “you better start, a 5K in the mud, over obstacles and extreme terrain is gonna hurt you!  You better get started!”

So with three weeks to go until the race I started.  But only because I talked to my other cousin, who I do consider a runner, and he told me about the 21 Minute Interval Workout.

The benefits of interval training can be substantial. You will burn more calories during and after your workout, get faster and stronger, and increase overall cardiovascular fitness. Interval training also relieves the boredom sometimes associated with treadmill training.
Here’s how it works:

(Be sure to pick speeds that are appropriate for your fitness level)

Warm up for 2 minutes walking at a brisk pace. Start jogging on the third minute at a slow or very comfortable pace.  Add one mph for minutes four, five and six. On the seventh minute you return to your starting jog speed and repeat 3 more times.

Now for the kicker! On the last one you add one more mile an hour and an extra minute before walking or finishing at your starting jog speed for a two minute cool down.

Here’s how it looks: (I’ll use my mph for example only)

Min 1 & 2                    Walk at a brisk pace.  4.5mph

Min 3                           Begin a slow jog.  (5mph) add 1 mph per minute

Min 4                           6 mph

Min 5                           7 mph

Min 6                           8 mph

Min 7                           5 mph (repeat original jog speed)

Min 8                           6

Min 9                           7

Min 10                         8

Min 11                        5 (repeat)

Min 12                         6

Min 13                         7

Min 14                         8

Min 15                         5 (repeat)

Min 16                         6

Min 17                         7

Min 18                         8  Alright, suck it up! You can make it! 1 more minute!!

Min 19                         9

Min 20                         5 mph or walk at brisk warm up walk speed

Min 21                         4.5 mph walk

Congratulations! You made it!  It feels good to fight through and complete this running training program.  It’s hard but the way it gives you time to recover gives you the strength to pull through.  Fight through these little victories along the way to help push you on.  I just love this program.

Stay flexible with it too.  You can do half mph increments if you need to, you can vary the incline to make it more or less difficult, and of course you can always run faster!

Thanks for reading.  I hope you enjoy this running training program and I hope it helps you achieve your running and fitness goals.

If you enjoyed what I have shared and would like to learn more about me or additional fitness training programs be sure to enter your name and email for more about how I can help you get in the best shape of your life.

And yes I finished the 5 K Warrior Dash! What a Blast! Highly recommended!

Time To Get Started!

October 19th, 2010 No comments

Hello,

Welcome to my blog. This is my first entry, oh wait it’s called a post isn’t it? Uh hem, this is my first post ever! So here I am breaking out of my comfort zone a little to share with you my journey as I commit to conquer P90X. I just want to give you a quick background about me and why I think I can help you achieve your health and fitness goals.

I have been emphatic about health and fitness since I was thirteen years old. I started lifting weights in my basement with one of those lightweight flimsy benches and those concrete filled plastic plates. I remember reading muscle and fitness magazine and dreaming of getting big. I worked out pretty consistently and was seeing some good results.

When I started high school I was probably 5’3” and 120lbs. I kept lifting and in my sophomore year I had my “growth spurt”. I “rocketed” all the way up to 5’9” and have been there ever since. However, I did manage to go from 120lbs to 165lbs by my junior year.

I heard a lot of steroid accusations and it even went so far that in the senior yearbook it said that in the future I will grow up to be “One Big Muscle with Eyes!” It was pretty funny because I always considered myself one of the small guys and in reality the most I ever weighed was 185lbs and getting there was a struggle.

Over the years I have maintained the habits I formed at an early age. I eat right and never ever ever eat fast food. I have been living that way so long I don’t really have to think about what I’m eating because bad food just isn’t in my diet.

I have been a member at the local gym (20 minute drive!) since high school. So that’s hmmm, well that’s a long time. I have grown tired of the inconvenience of going to the gym and I know that I can get an even better workout from home with P90X.

I look forward to sharing with you my progress and thoughts about the program. I will be sharing tips on training and diet and other things that I think will be interesting and beneficial to you.

If there are any of you out there that are thinking about getting started and would like to join me, stop thinking about it and get started. Commit to getting fit and living a healthier life. Change is difficult only because it’s new. It’s only scary because you haven’t done it before.

Take the first step by getting in touch with me. Let’s talk about where you’re starting and let’s get you to that finish line. Ready, Set, GO!

Craig
